This was my comic lot that I picked up yesterday. I’m incredibly happy with the top row.
Pictured:
- Ms. Marvel #s 2, 3 & 6. That leaves me with a continuous lot of # 1-17 of 1970s Ms. Marvel instead of the sporadic mess I had before. And they’re in impeccable condition. Just a few more issues to fill in!
- Strange Adventures #s 211 & 214 which are part of the arc in which Deadman/Boston Brand made his first appearance in the late 60s. These were really a incredible find and I got quite a bargain. They’re a little rough around the edges but all in all beautiful.
- Firestar # 1-4 which was a mini series in 1986
- A few issues of Manhunter
- Another random issue of Birds of Prey. Why I decided to collect them all in single issue is something I’ll never fully understand. This is seriously going to be a journey.
- Another issue for the 2002 Deadman series I’ve been collecting
- And finally Greg Ruka’s Question: The Five Books of Blood trade paperback
Snagged these at the con yesterday along with a few Trades for Mike that arent pictured.
In regards to the first day of Comic Con:
Well, we didn’t get too many photos of the actual con due to the lens on my camera being pretty much reduced to manual focusing which isn’t good for the quick shots the con requires and the fact that we didn’t actually see many cosplayers today. We wanted to share something with you guys so we’re going to do a mini spam of our loot today. Starting with the comics we got signed today!
Pictured above are all the signatures we were able to get today! The writers AND the artists we met with today were all REALLY incredible people. They were all a blast! So I guess I’ll list who we saw and what they signed below:
- Gail Simone signed Birds of Prey (‘10) #1 (SHE’S EVEN MORE INCREDIBLE IN PERSON GUYS!)
- Joe Benitez signed Lady Mechanika #0 (AND A MECHANIKA POSTER. I brought this with me on an off chance I might see him at the con and I was THRILLED to see him.)

- Marjorie Liu signed X-23 #1 (This was supposed to be personalized with Mike’s name but she signed My Widow first and just went with it)
